New Books

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog lately because I have been so busy with work and my masters. I thought I would post a quick one about the latest intermediate literacy meeting I went to. It was fantastic as always and I walked away with some more wonderful resources to add to my list. The latest are 2 excellent books that can be used in any elementary school classroom and ones that I will be buying for my own collection ASAP.

The first one is What if Everybody Did That by Ellen Javernick. I haven’t provided a link because the only one I can find is for a crazy amount of money. I will definitely keep looking for a reasonable price though. If you happen to find it somewhere that it is less than $117 (through Amazon) please let me know.

Anyways this book goes through some comical explanations as to what would happen if everybody did something like “What if everybody fed the bears?” Actually I changed my mind….hey a girl can do that right?! Here is a link so you can browse through the book.

Thanks to Stacie’s comment below I found the book for $6.49 and have added it to my collection. To get it for your classroom just click on the picture:)

The second book, is all about teasing someone and then saying “I am just kidding.” It is called Just Kidding by Trudy Ludwig. I highly recommend getting this book in particular.

I love book shopping and should have some shares in Amazon and Scholastic πŸ™‚ Happy book shopping.

  1. Hi Terri
I just found your blog thru TN. Now I'm your newest follower. As I perused your posts, I noticed that you have an interest in poetry. I'm a bit of a poetry nut. If you visit my blog, you will find TONS of posts about poetry in the elementary school. I hope you enjoy them.

So glad to have found your blog!

  2. You are right Barb…. you do have a lot of poetry on your blog. I like the big Poet-tree in your classroom idea:)

  3. Thanks for the book suggestions. I'm going to take a look at the bullying book for my 3rd graders this coming year as I know bullying, especially with the "I'm just kidding" part is big with kids this age. I came across your blog through TBA. I hope you can stop by my Whole Brain Teaching blog sometime.
